Green RecyclingThe most exciting thing about recycling as a social phenomena, is the ability of waste reduction schemes to help grow other “green” technologies and programs.  The serious social, climatological and political ramifications of reliance upon fossil fuels in the world, anything that helps encourage the use of alternative energy sources such as  wind, solar, tidal, geothermal and hydro power can be a great benefit to society.

This connection between recycling and alternative energy, aside from both being “green” solutions to waste and pollution problems, is also a political and personal for all of us.  For example, someone who is motivated to be excited about recycling is also likely to be an advocate of carbon-neutral power generation.  This can also be true for governments as well as all of us.  There are even new technologies that can actually produced bio-fuel from previously landfilled materials such as paper, plastic and organic-waste derived methane.
